Ulcerative Colitis

When urgency and flares decide your day. Supporting the colon from its cellular energy foundation up.

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a form of inflammatory bowel disease in which the immune system causes inflammation and ulcers in the lining of the colon and rectum. It typically moves between flares, with urgency, bloody diarrhoea, cramping and fatigue, and periods of remission.

If you live with UC, you know the urgency that rules every outing, the anxiety on a long drive, the tiredness that follows a flare for weeks. It's a condition many people keep quiet about, which can make it feel lonely. You are not alone, and you are not the problem.

What you've probably tried, and why it fell short

Medication for UC, including aminosalicylates, steroids, immunosuppressants and biologics, is essential and can bring lasting remission. The pH Method never replaces it. Many people also try diet changes and supplements, and still feel there's something missing between appointments.

A different way to see it

The cells lining the colon have a particularly high energy demand, and they rely heavily on fuel produced by healthy gut bacteria. Research has explored how energy metabolism in these cells is disrupted in ulcerative colitis. When the lining is short on energy, it struggles to repair and to keep its protective barrier intact.

That is why The pH Method starts with Cellular Respiration, the process cells use to produce energy, before moving through the nervous system, inflammation, the gut barrier and the microbiome.

The order we work in

  1. Cellular Respiration: restore the energy the gut lining and its immune cells depend on
  2. Nervous system regulation: calm the gut-brain axis, which strongly shapes symptoms and flares
  3. Inflammatory load reduction: ease the immune activation driving inflammation in the gut
  4. Gut barrier repair: support the integrity of the intestinal lining
  5. Microbiome restoration: rebuild the gut ecosystem once the environment can support it

This is what the Gut & Liver Calm program guides you through, built on the cellular foundation laid in Cell Reset.

Why you can trust this approach

Phil Hoare lived with autoimmune conditions himself and spent years studying cellular respiration and the order in which the body regains balance. With ulcerative colitis, staying closely connected to your gastroenterologist and keeping up with recommended monitoring is essential. The pH Method is coaching and education that works alongside your medical team, never against them. Please don't stop or change medication without their guidance. Every body is different, and results vary.

What could feel different

Picture a car journey without mapping every stop. Longer, steadier stretches between flares. Energy that returns, and the confidence to say yes to things again.

Your first step

Take the free Clarity Quiz to see whether your ulcerative colitis is asking for cellular, digestive, liver or complex support first. It takes under two minutes. If your picture feels complicated, a Solutions Call with Phil can help you find the right pathway, so you won't be guessing alone.

You don't have to guess what comes first

The free Clarity Quiz gently shows whether your ulcerative colitis is asking for cellular, digestive, liver or complex support first.

Frequently asked questions about Ulcerative Colitis

Can The pH Method help me stay in remission?+

The pH Method supports the cellular, nervous system and gut foundations that influence gut health, alongside your medication. It can't promise remission, and results vary.

Should I change my diet?+

Any dietary changes should be discussed with your gastroenterologist or dietitian. The pH Method focuses on foundations first and does not ask you to follow extreme restrictions.

What's the difference between UC and Crohn's?+

Ulcerative colitis affects only the colon and rectum, in a continuous pattern in the inner lining. Crohn's can affect any part of the digestive tract and deeper layers of the bowel wall.

Which program is right for UC?+

Most people begin with Cell Reset and then move into Gut & Liver Calm. The Clarity Quiz will confirm your starting point.
